ivebend Humane Societyabout us
At the Riverbend Animal Shelter located on four acres of farm land just south of Jerseyville Illinois homeless animals are given health care, comfortable living conditions and, most important of all, affection. Prospective owners are screened for their ability and commitment to care for a pet. Once an animal is placed in a home the shelter staff continue contact with the adoptee's family. The shelter has been inspected and approved by the Illinois Department of Agriculture and will be inspected periodically. The Hope for Animals Resale Shop and Grooming Parlor in Wood River, Illinois, supports the shelter by offering expert grooming for dogs and cats and by accepting and reselling donated items.

Riverbend Humane Society Mission Statement
The mission of the Riverbend Humane Society is to provide hope for dogs and cats who have been abandoned, abused, neglected, or whose owners can no longer care for them. Within limits imposed by staffing, funding, and the size of our no-kill shelter, we will give care and affection to dogs and cats that are homeless, facilitate adoptions into appropriate homes, and remain in contact with the adoptive home to insure the animalís welfare. An additional goal of our organization is to curb pet overpopulation through spay/neutering programs and agreements.
